Building Facilities at
720 North Central
The City of Wood Dale
Department of City Services has been established to provide
for efficient delivery of public works and related services
to the City's citizens and businesses.
The Department of City
Services five (5) operating divisions are:
- Street Maintenance Division - responsible for the care of streets,
curbs, sidewalks, storm sewers and drainage, street
lighting, parkway trees, traffic signage, snow and ice
control.

Vehicle/Equipment Maintenance Division - responsible for routine,
preventative , and emergency maintenance of all City
owned vehicles and equipment, including Police
Department vehicles, City Services and Administrative
vehicles; operating of fueling systems; management of
parts inventory.
- Water Operations Division - responsible for providing safe potable
water throughout the City distribution system, including
operation and care of delivery structures from
DuPage Water Commission pipelines, elevated water
tanks and ground storage reservoirs, emergency wells,
water distribution mains, fire hydrants, valves, water
meters, and customer meter readings.
Wastewater Operations Division - responsible for the collection and treatment of wastewater, including the operation of all City sanitary sewers, pumping stations, wastewater treatment plants; industrial pretreatment program; and all Federal and State regulations associated with wastewater treatment and discharges.

Water/Wastewater Plant and Equipment Maintenance Division -
responsible for maintenance and repair of electrical and
mechanical equipment associated with water pumping and
storage facilities, wastewater pumping facilities,
wastewater treatment facilities, and specialty
maintenance equipment.
Building facilities are located at 720 North Central Avenue (Street
Maintenance Division, Vehicle/Equipment Maintenance
Division, Department Administration), and at 269 West Irving
Park Road (Water Division, Wastewater Division, North
Wastewater Plant and Equipment Maintenance Division), and
180 Brookhurst Lane (South Wastewater Plant). The facility
on Central Avenue
opened in 1989. Includes fueling stations, salt storage, and
outdoor material storage bins. The wastewater treatment
plants were extensively expanded and upgraded in the
mid-1980's.
